What's it all about?
Libertas Zine is a visually nostalgic exploration into the themes of Freedom and Confinement (relevant to the current social climate regarding COVID-19, and the tensions we have all felt between the outside and the inside; the interior and the exterior throughout worldwide lockdowns).
In response to this tension (this so-called ‘emergence’ from claustrophobic conditions) we will create both photographic and written/poetic centred work ourselves, and then combine this with work from artists and poets looking to collaborate with other young creatives (as found through an open call). It will be a ‘print at home’ publication, that when folded metaphorically represents ‘confinement’ through it’s small size, that will then fold out into a large poster representing the ‘freedom’ aspect of the work.

Together we decided to create Libertas as a platform for people to engage and find hidden meaning of the absent world around us.
On a journey of discovery for true meanings of freedom and confinement, we seek to showcase work of young creatives influenced by the lockdown measures enforced globally.
